The Beacon Foundation (Beacon) was established in Tasmania in 1988. It ran its first 'No Dole' program at Brooks High School (Tasmania) in 1995 and since then has provided educational and support programs for 'at risk' young people throughout Australia. In 2012, the Beacon Foundation became a partner in Building Futures for Young Australians at Risk: A coordinated measurement framework and data archive.
