Help
Enabling Spaces has been created as a proof-of-concept, and remains a work in progress. On this page, we provide a brief outline of the main navigation options and pathways to help you use the site.
Navigation Options
On the left of the navigation bar are two general pages introducing the Enabling Spaces resource.
HOME: Provides a brief introduction to the site, with links to the site's main navigation options and the Beyond Exclusion exhibition. The Homepage also links to a full Browse page, which provides alphabetical lists for each of the types of entries, or pages, included on the site.
ABOUT: Information about the Building Futures for Young Australians project, and the Enabling Spaces resource.
The four darker blue options at the centre of the main navigation bar provide four different ways to access content. Unlike many similar sites, Enabling Spaces is not hierarchical like a catalogue. All of the content is interlinked, and can be accessed via multiple pathways. Therefore, these main navigation options should be considered different entry points to the same content.
Explore MEASUREMENT FRAMEWORK: Provides information about the shared measurement framework, built around the principles of connection, capacity and meaning. The framework is linked to specific organisations and current practice via Descriptors and Objectives, as shown in the illustration below.
Find ORGANISATIONS/PROGRAMS: This option lets you start exploring content by looking at specific organisations, programs or schools related to marginalised young people connected to education. (Note that, as this site is still at proof-of-concept stage, detailed content is only available for those organisations directly involved in the Building Futures project.) Organisations and programs are linked to the shared measurement framework via Instruments, Datasets, Objectives and Descriptors.
Information about DATA: Enabling Spaces does not provide access to actual data. It contains information about datasets, and tools (or Instruments) used by Beacon Foundation, Hands on Learning Australia and the Southern Ethnic Advisory and Advocacy Council (SEEAC), all of which are accessible via this page. You can navigate from Instruments and Datasets to specific organisations and programs, or follow links to Objectives and Descriptors to see how these instruments have been mapped against the Building Futures Framework.
Other RESOURCES: Enabling Spaces has been developed as part of a research project. Other Resources provides access to key publications, including research publications relevant to the concepts of connection, capacity and meaning.
The final two tabs on the navigation bar provide options for assistance.
